ABOUT US

We are a group of hobby and professional beekeepers doing outreach and public education in support of our Island area bees.  We help with bee problems and help find local sources of bee products & services.  With the dwindling bee populations , we are advocates for more local beekeeping, uses for bee products, share bee care information and help people get started as beekeepers.

Our Mission

Our mission is to assist fellow beekeepers; to educate beekeepers and the public in matters related to honey bees and beekeeping; to cooperate in marketing honey bee products; to provide community service related to bee issues; to promote beekeeping by creating a positive image of honey bees, beekeeping and bee products.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Monthly Meetings

Our monthly meetings feature a wide variety of topics that are relevant to the beekeeper community. This includes having guest speakers, presentations related to common pest issues, Q&A's from our beekeepers, as well as live demonstrations of how-to's. These meetings are not limited to members and are open to the public.

Community Apiary Day

To provide hands on experience to our new beekeepers, we will be conducting two apiary days a month on the 2nd Saturday and 4th Saturday of the month (weather permitting). This event will be open to the public and will require advance registration.
